How to request account deletion
You can request deletion of your account and personal data in any of the
following ways:
Option 1 — In the ApesTogether app
- Open the ApesTogether app and sign in.
- Go to your account settings (Account & Privacy).
- Tap Delete My Account and confirm.
Option 2 — By email
From the email address associated with your account, email
[email protected]
with the subject “Delete my account” and we will process your
request.
What happens when you request deletion
- Your account is hidden immediately (removed from
leaderboards, public portfolio pages, and subscriber views) and can no
longer sign in.
- After a 30-day grace period, your account and data are
permanently deleted / anonymized.
- To restore your account within the 30-day window, email
[email protected].
(Simply signing back in will not restore it.)
Data that is permanently deleted
- Profile information (name, username, email address, phone number, and
sign-in / OAuth identifiers)
- Portfolio holdings and full transaction history
- Performance data and portfolio snapshots
- Subscriptions (both the creators you subscribe to and your own
subscribers)
- Device tokens and push-notification history
- Feature-poll votes and other app data associated with your account
Data that is retained, and for how long
We permanently delete your app data and anonymize your general account
profile. However, U.S. tax and financial-recordkeeping laws require us to
keep certain financial records even after your account is deleted. Where a
record must identify a payee for tax reporting, it is kept in full (it is
not anonymized), access to it is restricted, and it is used
only for tax, accounting, and legal-compliance purposes:
- Payment & in-app purchase records (subscription
transaction IDs, dates, and amounts): retained for up to
7 years for accounting and tax purposes. These do not
include your Social Security number.
- For creators who received payouts — tax records:
the information from your W-9 (legal name and mailing address) plus the
associated 1099 and payout records, retained for up to
7 years as required by the IRS. Your full taxpayer ID
number (SSN/EIN) is held only by our third-party accounting/tax provider,
which is the system of record for 1099 filing; within the app we store
only the last four digits, encrypted.
If you never received creator payouts, we do not hold a W-9, SSN/EIN, or
1099 for you.
Cancel billing separately: Deleting your account does
not cancel any paid subscriptions. To stop being billed,
cancel your subscription in the App Store (iOS) or
Google Play (Android).
